There has been a lot of attention given to our 107-year-old church to keep it beautiful and functioning well. In the last eight years alone it has gotten a new boiler, a new air-conditioning system and a new roof. The stained glass windows have been cleaned and weatherized. A lift has been installed making three levels accessible. A good portion of the exterior stonework has been tuck-pointed. The church has gotten a new pipe organ and piano. Two confessionals have been renovated. The exterior doors and front lanterns have been restored. The chapel has received a full renovation. And pavers and landscaping have improved the grounds.
Our St. Margaret community has accomplished all these through our general funds, special appeals, individual gifts and countless volunteer hours. The most recent work done over this summer was accomplished in large part to the capital campaign, “A New Century of Faith.” We are grateful to everyone who made pledges, but we still need another $100,000 to meet the expenses of the repainting. We will pay this through our reserves. In order to curb this amount, however, we are welcoming all special donations. If you appreciate the improvements that have been made to St. Margaret Church and would like to make a contribution, please send your gift through the Sunday collection or mail to the rectory with the notation “Church Renovation.” Thank you!
