Parish Council

The role of the Parish Council is to assist and advise the pastor in regard to all aspects of parish life. More specifically, it provides oversight and an overview of the various ministries and activities of the parish, oversees the on-going strategic planning processes of the parish and its various constituent elements, coordinates various parish committees and organizations so that they all work together for the general parish goals and objectives, ensures that the agreed upon processes and consultations are carried out by committees, makes appropriate policy recommendations to the pastor, recommends the adoption of the annual parish and school budgets, ensures that the necessary funding is available to achieve the parish‘s objectives, identifies parishioners and provides training for leadership positions in the parish. Membership consists of the pastor, a number of parishioners elected by the parish at large, and a number appointed by the pastor to achieve balance and diversity to reflect the parish. Representatives of various parish organizations are invited on a regular basis to report on their activities. The Council meets monthly except in July.

Finance Committee

The role of the Finance Committee is to advise and assist the pastor in the financial administration of the parish. More specifically, the committee assists in developing the annual budgets for parish and school and monitoring these during the course of the year, in providing financial reports to the Parish Council and to the parish and school communities, in making recommendations regarding the parish reserves and regarding all other issues of a financial issue. Membership consists of eight to twelve parishioners (including a parishioner member of the school board, recommended by the school board president) appointed by the pastor. The committee meets monthly except in July.

School Board

The role of the School Board is to advise and assist the principal and the pastor regarding policies and budget and to advise the pastor on the appointment of a principal. Membership consists of nine members (two-thirds of which must be registered members of the parish) elected by a vote of the registered members of the parish and the parents of a child enrolled in the school. Members ex officio are the pastor, principal, and the president of the Parent Teacher Association. The Board meets monthly except in July.

Worship Committee

The role of the committee is to advise and assist the pastor in regard to planning, preparing, and conducting the liturgical and prayer life of the parish community. Membership consists of eight to twelve parishioners appointed by the pastor, as well as the director of liturgical music and the choir director ex officio. The committee meets monthly except in July. 

Physical Plant

The role of the committee is to advise and assist the pastor in the oversight of the physical facilities of the parish, i.e. church, school, rectory, and ICSH parish center. More specifically, it conducts a review of the status of all parish properties and their systems, develops a list of priorities for work to be done to ensure proper and timely maintenance, reviews bids and recommends contracts for projects, organizes parish volunteers for projects that can be done in-house, and whatever else ensures good stewardship of parish properties. Membership consists of eight to ten parishioners appointed by the pastor. The committee meets monthly except in July. 

Fundraising Committee

The purpose of the committee is to coordinate the work and scheduling of the various individual committees responsible for fundraising for the parish and the school and to enable them to assist one another on issues common to all.

Membership consists of the chairs or representatives of the School Annual Giving Campaign, the PTA Trivia Night, the School Spring Auction/Event, the SHOPS Program, the Alumni Committee, the Highlander Committee, and the parish Spring Appeal. The committee meets quarterly.
