| Parish Council |
The role of the Parish Council is to assist
and advise the pastor in regard to all aspects
of parish life. More specifically, it provides
oversight and an overview of the various ministries
and activities of the parish, oversees the on-going
strategic planning processes of the parish and its
various constituent elements, coordinates various
parish committees and organizations so that they
all work together for the general parish goals
and objectives, ensures that the agreed upon
processes and consultations are carried out by
committees, makes appropriate policy recommendations
to the pastor, recommends the adoption of the annual
parish and school budgets, ensures that the necessary
funding is available to achieve the parish‘s objectives,
identifies parishioners and provides training for leadership
positions in the parish. Membership consists of the pastor,
a number of parishioners elected by the parish at large,
and a number appointed by the pastor to achieve balance
and diversity to reflect the parish. Representatives
of various parish organizations are invited on a regular
basis to report on their activities. The Council meets monthly
except in July.
