Celebrating Pope Leo XIV

Habemus Papam! We have a new pope!

Students and staff alike in our School were eagerly awaiting the white smoke we saw the week before, on the morning of Thursday, May 8. As soon as it appeared, all activities stopped to take a moment to pray for our new Pope Leo.   Many students chose to eat and have recess in their classrooms that day so that they could watch as Pope Leo XIV gave his first Urbi et Orbi address, and they rejoiced at seeing the first American pope. Check out some of these letters written to Pope Leo by our Mrs. Clark’s first graders!

The parish office produced a prayer card which is presented below – copies of which can be found at the back of the Church.  Pick one up today!
