Bring your signs and to make your voices heard!

Social Justice is under attack. Stand up for the Common Good and for your fellow St. Louis neighbors! Advocate for the cause(s) that you’re most passionate about:

  • Immigration
  • LGBTQ+ Rights
  • Racial Equity
  • Gun Violence
  • Environment

This date coincides with the 11th Annual National Gun Violence Awareness Day, so all participants are encouraged to Wear Orange to this rally to honor the victims and survivors of gun violence.

On the heels of our May Day event, we’ve decided to continue this peaceful demonstration on a monthly basis on the First Friday** to take action as part of a national movement to protest the injustices in our country today. CLICK THE LINK BELOW TO RSVP.

Join the St. Margaret of Scotland Living Justice Ministries for this family-friendly event. Children are welcome to join. There will be chalk available for them to do drawings on the sidewalk during the rally.

“Courage begets courage…” and “Action dissolves anxiety”. Sitting on the sidelines is no longer an option. Stand up for social justice!

**We will adjust the schedule for July, since the First Friday falls on July 4th.

We also encourage everyone to join our friends at St. Cronan Church at their on-going Black Lives Matter Vigil, which takes place the Third Friday of the month at the corner of Manchester Ave. & S. Kingshighway Blvd., from 4:30-5:30pm.  The next vigil will take place on Friday, June 20.  All are welcome to join!

St. Margaret of Scotland has been a cornerstone of the Catholic faith in the Shaw neighborhood of South St. Louis, MO since 1899. The SMOS Living Justice Ministries, in keeping with the parish mission, is dedicated to imbuing the parish – individuals and organizations – with an awareness of what it means to live just lives, and to encourage each – personally and collectively – to work towards a more just society to benefit the parish, our city and the greater community. The five teams that make up the LJM are: Care For Creation (environment), Gun Sense: For the Common Good (gun violence prevention), Immigration, Pride of St. Margaret (LGBTQ+ rights), and Racial Equity.
