Just because the kids are out of school doesn’t mean there aren’t cool things to do at SMOS during the Summer!
Join SMOS Coordinator of Religious Education, Gwen Cataldo, and her Summer Social Team for activities and religious formation fun for your children.

Summer Programming Schedule 2023
JUNE
- Wednesday, June 7 – kickball game
- All 7-11 year olds are welcome to come and play in a kickball game held at the school at 7:00pm. The game will be monitored by adult referees.
- Saturday, June 10 – Welcome Mass and pizza
- All 12-14 year olds are invited to attend the 4:30pm Mass together to help welcome new families to our community. We will celebrate with pizza and community after in the Canmore Room! We will wrap up around 7:00.
- Wednesday, June 14 – Early Learners Bible Day Camp
- Children ages 3-6 can come to the church hall for a half day of church related activities and games. Camp will run from 8:00-12:15. The theme will be announced shortly before camp! Lunch is not provided.
- Tuesday, June 20 – Elementary Bible Day Camp
- Children ages 7-11 are invited to the church hall for a half day of church related activities and games. Camp will run from 8:00-12:15. The theme will be announced shortly before camp! Lunch is not provided.
- Wednesday, June 21 – Noah’s Ark Party
- All 12-14 year olds are invited to come to a party in the church hall at 7:00pm. The theme is Noah’s Ark → everyone should come dressed as an animal, ideally matching their costume with one other person. The party will come to a close around 9:00.
JULY
- Friday, July 14 – Nature Day Video Chat
- Children of all ages are invited to celebrate the Feast of St. Kateri Tekakwitha by joining a Zoom meeting where they can show their own little corner of the beautiful earth God created. The Zoom will begin at 10:00am. All are welcome, especially those who might be away from St. Louis at the moment!
AUGUST
- Wednesday, August 2 – Night of Jesus Jams!
- All children ages 7-11 are invited to join us in the church hall as we spend the evening dancing and singing to some of our favorite Jesus Jams. We will learn new songs and dances, play music-based games, and praise Jesus through song. Event begins at 7:00pm and wraps up at 8:30.
- Saturday, August 5 – Pray and Play
- All parents and grandparents with children under age 10 are welcome to meet at our school playground to socialize with one another and build community. The gathering will begin with prayer at 10:00am.
- Wednesday, August 9 – Middle School Service Project
- All children ages 12-14 are invited to come and meet in the Canmore Room at 7:00pm to make tie blankets while eating snacks. Blankets will be donated to a group chosen by the children who create the blankets. Middle schoolers can be picked up at 9:00pm.
- Tuesday, August 15 – Youth Mass for Mary
- Children of all ages are invited to come and pack the church to celebrate the Assumption and the end of summer. There will be treats available in the church hall after Mass for all to enjoy. The Mass time has yet to be announced.
