News From The Immigrant & Refugee Ministry
It is with a heavy heart that the IRM shares this news. Paula Jaimes, who has been the Accompaniment Coordinator for the Immigrant and Refugee Ministry during the past several months, resigned and left St. Louis for her former home in Colombia. Paula had a hearing in immigration court in Rhode Island last week. After four hours of questioning, she was denied asylum. She and her husband decided not to appeal this decision. Paula’s leaving is a loss for all of us. She is a warm, competent young woman who hit the ground running in her position with the IRM. We pray for the safety of Paula and her husband as they return to Colombia.
