Save the date!! Mark your calendar for the Halloween Coats and Costumes Party planned for October 4, 2025 which is sponsored by the SMOS SVDP Society and Isaiah 58 Ministries. The goal is to serve 40 kids with costumes and winter coats.
The St. Vincent de Paul conference is still in need of coats and costumes for this joint event with Isaiah 58, which helps our neighbors in need. Costume donations may be dropped off at the School office or in the bin located in the back of Church. OR if you prefer, monetary donations are gladly accepted for a coat and the Conference will do your shopping! The recommended cost of a coat is $25-$50 although any amount is appreciated as there are other costs associated with the event. Write a check (or cash) to SMOS SVDP and drop it at the school or parish offices, or in the collection basket. Donations requested no later than Friday, 9/26.
Each child attending the party will receive a free coat AND costume for Halloween along with the opportunity to participate in a fun-filled afternoon of Halloween games, crafts, pizza, candy and fresh baked sweets! Costumes are needed for an infant to age 12 y/o child – especially in the larger kid sizes of 10 -18 (boys and girls). Monetary donations will be used for coat purchases and the pizza lunch.

This fundraiser was developed by parishioner, Carmela Garza, more than 15 years ago, as she saw an overwhelming need for the children of our SVDP neighbors to have a winter coat and some Halloween fun! Although the event has been on hiatus since COVID, it was decided by the SVDP Conference to revive this special party.
