God’s Delight

by Mary Grace Villmer, Assistant Principal

~ It’s my privilege to enter my second year as Assistant Principal of St. Margaret of Scotland School. Since December, we have been hard at work collaborating on a new All-School Behavioral Practices Plan. And what does it begin with?! Yes – The OG Delight!

Our Original Goodness!

It says right here:

And God saw everything that he had made, and, behold, it was very good. Genesis 1:31

I’m not learned in Hebrew, but I understand that the word “good” (ṭôb) encompasses more than just aesthetic beauty. It indicates suitability for purpose and meeting God’s perfect standard. The phrase “very good” signifies completeness, harmony, and God’s delight in His creation. That’s us!

With our St. Margaret of Scotland School Educational Goal:

“Student Learning will improve through the use of Whole School Behavioral Management
Practices,” this is where we begin… with God’s delight in us and our delight in one another.

Our hope in His Goodness is to accomplish this through a hybrid of Accountability AND Restoration from
our foundation for all things SMOS:

We ask for your prayers as we the faculty, students, and families at SMOS, go forth together to be present and conscious in relationship, respect, responsibility, repair, and reintegration to help us and our students go out into the world as beacons of His plan for us from the very beginning… To Celebrate and live out His and Our…

Original Goodness.

Throughout the year, we present an article in the bulletin each week on a variety of topics, written by a member of our Parish staff or ministries on a rotating basis.
