May is traditionally known as Mary’s month, so the student body took a moment on Wednesday, May 7th, before the All-School Mass began to do a May Crowning service. Mary is Queen of Heaven and Queen of All Saints, so representatives from the 8th grade class placed a crown on her head as a visual remembrance of these beliefs. They also placed flowers in front of the statue to decorate the altar as well.
If you have not already, this is the perfect time to create a small May Altar in your home. All this consists of is a statue or picture of Mary and beautiful things to decorate with. Things to place on a May Altar might include a rosary, flowers, or a cross. However you choose to celebrate Mary this month, do so remembering that she loves you and is praying for you!
