As we prepare for the culmination of our year-long celebration of the 125th anniversary of the founding of St. Margaret of Scotland with the return of the Highlander Gala this weekend, we also take look back on our history – how we got to where we are today. And maybe, just get an inkling of where we’re headed and how we can keep the momentum going.
Over the course of this Quasquicentennial year (July 2024-June 2025), our SMOS community had many opportunities to gather as a parish family to celebrate and give thanks to God for all the blessings given to this community over the past 125 years.
Parishioner Valerie Hahn has put together and updated the St. Margaret of Scotland parish history from the last 25 years (1999-2024). Please check out this anniversary write-up in honor of the SMOS Quasquicentennial – the full text will be printed in the upcoming Parish Directory (to arrive sometime in June 2025), but we thought you might like to take a preview now as we get ready to provide for the next generations of St. Margaret of Scotland children at the Highlander this weekend!
