Families who have been around St. Margaret’s for a few years will remember that the school used to have a more specific policy when it came to PE uniforms. Then came COVID, supply-chain issues, and hiked-up pricing – and a $40+ uniform that was months on backorder was not the intention. So, for the last few years, the policy had been relaxed.
But we’re happy to announce that we’ve been able to secure a new arrangement with our Spiritwear partner, South City Sporting Goods, to supply the school with gym shorts – and therefore, the school is updating its PE uniform policy (slightly) for next school year.
New for 2025-2026: All 4th-8th Grade Students must wear SMOS PE shorts purchased only through South City Sporting Goods.
As in years past, PE uniforms are required ONLY for students in 4th-8th grades:
4th-8th grade students:
- SMOS t-shirt and school-mandated shorts from South City Sporting Goods.
PreK-3rd grade students:
- Regular uniform shorts/pants and shirt.
Now, here’s the good news. You can pre-order your SMOS gym class shorts starting today for the 2025-2026 school year! Pre-orders are being accepted through June 30, 2025. At that time, all items purchased will be totaled, and the order will be placed. Boys and girls styles are available. Special pre-order pricing – $12. After 6/30, families can still order gym shorts online throughout the year, for on-demand manufacturing at a price of $16.
A performance gym t-shirt is also available as an optional purchase should families wish to do so. But for the uniform policy, SMOS class t-shirts (given by the PTA at the start of each year) or any SMOS t-shirt are acceptable.
