Thank you to all those who participated in the SMOS PLAN TO RETURN TO SCHOOL IN FALL survey. Your feedback, insights, and shared experiences are invaluable in our summer planning to safely reopen school in August. This week, a team of dedicated parents on the SMOS survey committee, delved deep into the feedback provided from this survey. A summary of the results was presented to the school board Wednesday evening and will be presented to the SMOS steering committee on Friday morning.
Committee work to begin planning to safely reopen school in August will start next week. These committees will be coordinated by the SMOS steering committee, work in conjunction with the work being done on the Archdiocesan task force, and work under the guidance, recommendations, and advice of local health, government officials, and all St. Louis or Missouri mandates. The committees will use the data and feedback provided in the parent survey as well to guide their work. Their planning will begin the week of June 21st and continue until July 10th.
The ultimate goal of our summer planning is to prepare for a safe, healthy, full return to school in August. If at any point during our planning, a full return to distance learning or partial return to school becomes imminent, we will communicate that, ASAP in order to give SMOS families adequate time to make plans accordingly. In the meantime, we will plan for all possible scenarios, always keeping in mind that during these unprecedented pandemic times, there is still much that is unknown.
