Thursday, July 9 Return to School Update

Dear St. Margaret of Scotland Parents,

The SMOS working teams planning to safely reopen school in August will be making their final recommendations to the steering committee this week. All recommendations are due to the steering committee tomorrow Friday, July 10th.

The St. Louis City mandates, recommendations, and guidelines were made available to schools on Monday, July 6. Attached is the information that was provided to SMOS. CLICK HERE to view St. Louis City mandates, recommendations, and guidelines to safely reopen school Over the next week, the final recommendations made by the SMOS subcommittees and the St. Louis City mandates, recommendations, and guidelines will be reviewed by the administration and the steering committee. We will use all this information, along with the feedback provided in the parent/teacher survey, to shape our plans to safely reopen school on August 13th. A specific informational document regarding the reopening of SMOS will be shared no later than July 31.

As we have experienced in the spring, even after this initial document is published and shared with our community, it can and most likely will be changed over time to meet the needs of our students, staff, and their families.

We will continue updating everyone weekly via the newsletter and on this webpage. Please save specific questions for after the administration and steering committee has a chance to read, reflect, and plan. In the meantime, please feel free to contact me at cyoung@stmargaretstl.org or Christine Burke at cburke@stmargaretstl.org with any general questions or concerns.
