Hey Party People —
And by that, I really do mean P-A-R-T-Y this time! You folks really do like a party, don’t you?!? Trivia Night sold out last week – and sadly there were more people vying for tables than ever before and it’s maxed out with some folks still hoping to get in (so if you happen to have space available, be sure to post on the Adventure Group on FB).
I don’t have a question or answer for you for this column this week – I’ve been knee-deep in questions and answers, but they are of the trivial kind. I’ve been all-in helping the Trivia Night team put together the games for this Saturday night. Given that it’s all about St. Louis and St. Margaret, they figured I might have some special insights to provide with the trivia questions. It’s been a lotta fun, but I must admit the one-two punch of Open House and Trivia Night has me chasing my tail this week. I do feel bad because I don’t want to neglect all of my many (I’m sure) readers. And honestly, I thought about full-out apologizing because I feel like I’ve kind of been dialing it in lately… but then I thought, oh wait, it’s January! If ever there was a month that called for dialing it in – it’s this month. Sorry, January! But even Mother Nature has been doing so. Oh here’s a bunch of snow! Wait, what? You want me to melt the ice now too – ok, well, give me a few weeks and I’ll get around to that! It’s how I’ve been feeling this month too – I just CAN-NOT. I had thought too about using ChapGPT to just write the column for me, but after a quick test, I can say that I don’t think heavenly spirits and artificial intelligence are a good mix. “Write an article about Trivia Night” came up with some very questionable responses, and although I want to look like I’m on my game by producing a weekly column, I think you all might have been even more worried about my mental state after that one! So, instead – I’m just being all Drew Barrymore and getting honest and real about my doldrums the past few weeks.
The good news is that January is ending. Fingers (or whatever it is I have now) crossed that February is better. At least it has some fun stuff like the Super Bowl, Valentine’s Day, and the start of Mardi Gras festivities! That is something I can look forward to – and judging by how much you all seem to need a party as much as I do, I think you’ll agree! Party on Garth!
