Kindergarten Teacher and Aftercare Director

Cailin Carel

Born and raised in St. Louis, I am as passionate about this town as I am about my profession.  I believe strongly in the betterment of children and am thrilled to be living out my dream in this incredible city of ours. After graduating from Ursuline Academy in 1991, I went on to receive my teaching degree from the University of Missouri, St. Louis.  I began my teaching career at St. Margaret of Scotland in 2006 as a fourth grade teacher. I took a couple of years off to become licensed as a Foster Parent and returned to SMOS to teach Kindergarten in 2009 which I have been enjoying ever since.

Along with teaching in the classroom, I have spent the last 7 years as Director of the SMOS Aftercare program. This has allowed me to maintain relationships with past students as they continue on in their educations as well as forging new friendships with students and families I may not have previously known.

Being part of this amazing school community is a true blessing to me and my family…one for which I am very grateful.
