IRM World Day of Migrants & Refugees Prayer Service & Reception

Sunday, October 5 @ 12:30 pm – 1:30 pm
St. Pius V Catholic Church
3310 S Grand Blvd., Saint Louis, 63118, United States

Sponsored by the SMOS Living Justice Ministries

Make a pilgrimage after Sunday Mass to the steps of St. Pius V Catholic Church for a communal prayer vigil with other parishes, in solidarity with immigrants and refugees – as part of an Archdiocesan celebration of the World Day of Migrants & Refugees on October 5th.

St. Margaret of Scotland parishioners will gather around 11:20am in the Church Hall, then depart for St. Pius together on foot at 11:30am, carrying signs down Grand Blvd., as a visible display of welcome to our immigrant neighbors.  A short program and prayer service will take place in front of St. Pius starting at 12:30pm, followed by a chance to gather for fellowship. (For those unable to join on foot, feel free to drive and park on a nearby street to meet the group at St. Pius.)

Please RSVP at the link below to ensure an accurate headcount.

In preparation for this pilgrimage, members of the LJM Immigration team will be making signs for the march the weekend of September 27-28, after both the 4:30 PM and 10 AM Masses.  Head down to the Parish Hall in the Church basement after the Mass for sign-making fun!  They will have all the supplies, and families are welcome to prep for the march.  Even if unable to attend the march, anyone is welcome to make signs. Or feel free to make your own at home. Or just plan to walk in the March without a sign.
