Sponsored by the SMOS Living Justice Ministries
In 2025, the 11th National Gun Violence Awareness Day will fall on June 6, the first Friday of the month.
That will kick off Wear Orange Weekend on June 6-8, which will feature virtual and in-person events across the nation – advocates for gun violence prevention will come together to wear orange and demand a change.
The SMOS Gun Sense: For the Common Good team invites you to wear your orange shirts to honor survivors and victims of gun violence and call for a future free from this crisis. Wear orange to raise awareness and show your concern! Wear orange to Mass to pray for all of us affected.
Then after Mass this weekend, please feel free to stop by the Advocacy Table to tell us why wearing orange is IMPORTANT to you! “Why do you wear orange?” We want to collect your thoughts, ideas, and statements, as we chronicle the effects of gun violence in society.
Gun Sense members from St. Margaret are also planning to take part in our Living Justice Ministries demonstration – Stand Up For Social Justice – on Friday, June 6th out on South Grand. All are welcome to join for a family-friendly event. Please wear your orange to this rally to honor National Gun Violence Awareness Day and those affected by gun violence. Please register if you plan to attend.
