Stand Up For Social Justice – December 2025

Stand Up For Social Justice

Friday, December 5 @ 4:30 pm – 6:00 pm
South Grand Blvd. at Flora Pl.
2100 block of Grand Blvd., Saint Louis, 63104, United States

Sponsored by the SMOS Living Justice Ministries

The SMOS Living Justice Ministries will once again be gathering on the first Friday this month of December to voice our concerns for issues concerning peace and justice. The event is rain or shine (or extreme cold) – and has been moved a half-hour earlier to accommodate sunset occurring earlier this time of year. There will also be added lighting and a generator on site – so those who gather can see and be seen even in the dark.  All are welcome to join!

Bring your signs and to make your voices heard!

Social Justice is under attack. Stand up for the Common Good and for your fellow St. Louis neighbors! Advocate for the cause(s) that you’re most passionate about:

Join us for this peaceful demonstration held monthly the First Friday to take action as part of a national movement to protest the injustices in our country today.

“Courage begets courage…” and “Action dissolves anxiety”. Sitting on the sidelines is no longer an option. Stand up for social justice!

St. Margaret of Scotland has been a cornerstone of the Catholic faith in the Shaw neighborhood of South St. Louis, MO since 1899. The SMOS Living Justice Ministries, in keeping with the parish mission, is dedicated to imbuing the parish – individuals and organizations – with an awareness of what it means to live just lives, and to encourage each – personally and collectively – to work towards a more just society to benefit the parish, our city and the greater community. The five teams that make up the LJM are: Care For Creation (environment), Gun Sense: For the Common Good (gun violence prevention), Immigration, Pride of St. Margaret (LGBTQ+ rights), and Racial Equity.

We also encourage everyone to join our friends at St. Cronan Church at their on-going Black Lives Matter Vigil, which takes place the Third Friday of the month at the corner of Manchester Ave. & S. Kingshighway Blvd., from 4:30-5:30pm.  All are welcome to join!
