Dear Maggie – August 28, 2025

Well, well, well… what a week it has been, my lovelies! I asked for questions, and you did not disappoint. In fact, you sent so many that my inbox fairly burst at the seams. And here’s the kicker—this is no ghostly exaggeration👻— Mr. Google himself popped in to tell me some of your notes were being flagged as spam. Imagine! Spam, sent to a saint! Back in my day, the only “spam” we had was sheep’s innards tucked into a stomach lining, and we called it haggis #YouKnowILoveMeSomeHaggis (Delicious with a side of oatcakes, by the way) 🤤

But I digress. I dutifully combed through each and every message, and while there were plenty of thoughtful questions from you fine SMOS parents, not one of them was particularly urgent. Instead, what kept rising to the top of my inbox was… well… this:

  1. Hi Maggie,
As the construction supervisor at St. Margaret of Scotland, I know you’re always looking for ways to better serve your community and ensure every sermon makes a lasting impact.
  2. Hi Maggie,
Just checking in. If you missed my last note, no worries!
As the construction supervisor at St. Margaret of Scotland, I know you’re juggling a lot. But if making your sermons more accessible is on your radar, Sermon Live might be—
  3. Hi Maggie,
Just popping in one last time in case this slipped through the cracks.
If expanding your church’s reach or making your sermons easier to follow is on your list, Sermon Live could be a game-changer for St. Margaret—

Lord love a duck! Spam dressed up as helpful advice! Let’s be clear: Now, I’ve been haunting these halls for centuries, but sermon-writing? That’s never made it onto my to-do list. So while I certainly think letting the construction manager give the sermons WOULD be a game-changer, I think I’ll leave that to Fr. John.
