Decorating Our Church for Christmas
On Sunday, December 21 immediately following the 10am Mass, please join our parish family in decorating our beautiful church for Christmas. All hands are needed – big or small. We have garland to hang, trees to assemble, and bows to fluff. We look forward to getting together to welcome Our Lord at Christmas. Thank you!

- Christmas Eve – Wednesday, December 24, 4:30pm & 10:00pm
- Christmas Day – Thursday, December 25, 9:00am Mass (No Eucharistic Adoration Scheduled)
- Day After Christmas – Friday, December 26 – NO MASS SCHEDULED
- Solemnity of Mary, the Holy Mother of God (Holy Day) – Wednesday, December 31, 4:30pm & Thursday, January 1, 9:00am Masses (No Eucharistic Adoration Scheduled)
- Epiphany – Sunday, January 4
- Church Christmas Decorations Takedown – Sunday, January 11, after 10 AM Mass

Due to the upcoming holidays, the bulletin article submission schedule is as follows:
- Weekend of December 13-1 articles are due on Thursday, December 4 by 2:00pm.
- Weekend of December 20-21 articles are due on Wednesday, December 10 by 2:00pm.
- Weekend of December 27-28 articles are due on Monday, December 15 by 2:00pm.
- Weekend of January 3-4 articles are due on Wednesday, December 17 by 2:00pm.

Upcoming Holiday Schedule
End of the Year Contributions
At the close of the year many parishioners like to make special donations to the church as part of their tax strategy. Your “little something extra” at Christmas can help us keep pace with our parish budget that is trying to meet St. Margaret’s expanding needs. When making your additional holiday contributions, note carefully that all checks dated up to “December 31” will be counted toward your 2025 contribution statement; whereas those marked “January 1” (& thereafter) will go toward your 2026 statement. Consider the WeShare online giving option found on our parish website. It’s the most convenient way to make your donations, and you can set up a regular giving plan. Thanks for your generosity!
End of the Year Contributions
#iGiveCatholic 2025
Once again, we are incredibly blown away by the generosity shown to St. Margaret of Scotland yesterday during this year’s #iGiveCatholic on #GivingTuesday. Because of our wonderful SMOS community and donors like you, we were able to raise just shy of $10,000 (that’s over 140% of our goal amount) to purchase much-needed audio-visual equipment for the Parish & School.

Wunderkind Adventure Camp @ SMOS 2026
Our neighbors at Cornerstone are once again holding their Summer camp at St. Margaret of Scotland School. The 2026 Wunderkind Adventure Camp welcomes campers ages 5–11 for a full 7-week day camp experience, running June 1, 2026 through July 17, 2026, from 8:00 am–5:00 pm each day.
Young Adults & Professionals Christmas Social 2025
Mark your calendar for the final YAP Social of 2025 on Thursday, December 18. This will be an opportunity to celebrate Christmas, and to celebrate and thank Deacon Dominick, who will be leaving St. Margaret after Christmas for his new assignment in Chicago.

Pastor's Corner
Fr. John Rogers Vien has served as Pastor of St. Margaret of Scotland since 2021. He has been a priest in the Archdiocese of St. Louis for over 30 years.
Fr. John writes a weekly article in the Parish bulletin called “A New Week”, in which he highlights various things going on around the Parish, focuses attention on a social justice or ecumenical topic, and challenges all of us to become better disciples of Christ in our daily lives.
Besides presiding at Mass or around the Church and Rectory, you will most likely find Fr. John out walking the neighborhood with his dog, Axel.
