All SMOS Parishioners and School Families are invited to join together as a community to celebrate Mass outdoors and an afternoon picnic on Sunday, September 7th!  For the second year in a row, the Mass in the Grass + Parish & School Picnic (which has long been a tradition at St. Margaret of Scotland) is a fun addition to our annual events.

Weather permitting, we will gather for 10 AM Sunday Mass, then lunch and fellowship immediately following – all outside at our beautiful neighborhood park. Please remember to bring your preferred seating as we gather for Mass, and you are asked to bring your own drinks and a side to share for a potluck meal with our community. The parish will provide the main dish, and we will ask parishioners to bring fruits & veggies, sides, and desserts to share. Feel free too to bring any other picnic items you like. The Stone Shelter is reserved all day, so you are invited to stay as long as you want to eat, visit, and play. This will be a great opportunity to give praise to God, revel in nature, celebrate our heritage, and build our community.

SMOS will provide BBQ (hot dogs & veggie dogs) and chips. BYO drinks, chairs/blankets, games, & a potluck item to share (see the list below).

Potluck Items Organized By Last Name:

  • Last Name A-E – fruit or veggie (salads or trays)
  • Last Name F-Q – side dish (bean, pasta, rice, potato, etc.)
  • Last Name R-Z – dessert (cookies, bars, cakes, pies, etc.)

Click the link below to RSVP- the event is FREE. DEADLINE TO RSVP – September 3. Please RSVP to give us a headcount for your household no later than 11:59pm, Wednesday, 9/3 if you wish to be included in the BBQ provided by the Parish.
