What Is Flocknote?

Communications have changed and technology has advanced over the years, and we want to stay current with our community. A simple bulletin is not all that is required, and we want to provide communications in all of its forms to our Parish & School – so that everyone can receive and read our information in a format of their choosing.

So, we’ve adopted a new and improved way of communicating that will make it much simpler for you to get the information you want from us! It’s powered by a service called Flocknote. Like sending a “note” to your “flock”. Flocknote.

This is all totally free for you to use, you don’t even have to download anything or create a password in order to participate. You just take a couple minutes to sign up and it lets you receive email or text messages from the groups and ministries that you choose. It even allows you to reply directly back to those messages so we can get feedback and hear from you in an efficient manner.

If you’ve been receiving our e-Blast, then you already might be aware of this change. But it goes way beyond a weekly news blast so be sure to update your profile to receive all of the news, announcements, and events that you care most about. Improving the speed and ease with which we can communicate with our families was an important goal.  We want you to be connected, and in so doing, we aim to communicate more easily and effectively with you (and be able to get your responses as well).  Using Flocknote allows us to easily send you the information you care about most via email and text message, and gives you the ability to give us essential feedback, too!

Am I "in for good" if I sign up?

Nope! The nice thing about this great service from the church is that it’s always free, and you can unsubscribe at any time.  You will only get messages for groups you’ve signed up for and you can leave a group at any time by texting “STOP” or by clicking the unsubscribe link in any email.

Is my information secure?

Yes. All of your data is transmitted across an encrypted internet connection, and all of your personal information is stored in secure databases. Your information is never (ever!) sold, rented or given away to any third-parties. We chose the Flocknote communication service because of their strong commitment to privacy. What if I don't have texting?

You can still sign up! As long as you have an email address, your church has a unique link on the Internet that you can use to sign up as well. Just enter your name and your email address, and you can still receive all messages sent out by your church.

How Do I Use It?

Will I need to get an app?

While there is a mobile app which members can download, the great thing about Flocknote is that you can be reached where you’re already at — using texting and email. You can also choose to access Flocknote via your existing mobile browser without having to download an app at all.

Should you wish to use Flocknote via the mobile app, please download from either the Apple App Store and the Google Play Store.

Is creating an account required?

No, you can sign up without creating an account by just providing your name, email address, and/or mobile phone number.

If you do decide to create an account, the benefit of doing so is that you can join specific sub-groups curated to your interests and involvement at SMOS.  And you can always adjust your groups later through signing in to the Flocknote website.

Can I associate more than one email or phone number with my account?

Each person should sign up separately so that each receives important communications.  (You can even have your children use their school email addresses when sign-in up for an event or activity.)  It is 1 cell phone number and 1 email per account.  For that reason, please use your most frequently checked email address when signing up.
