Sunday, September 21, is Stewardship Awareness Sunday at St. Margaret of Scotland. On Stewardship Sunday, we reflect on and commit to being more grateful and generous – grateful for all God’s gifts to us and generous in sharing those gifts with others.
As you reflect on Stewardship, first consider the time you give to God. Is Sunday Mass your first priority each weekend? Can you take more time to pray each day? Consider too your participation in parish events and groups. Can you be more active and share your own gifts? Finally, consider your financial giving to the parish. Can you increase or adjust your weekly or monthly giving? Is it time to adjust your electronic giving? Have you remembered the parish in your will or trust? Remember that God is never outdone in generosity, and that everything we offer to the Lord comes back to us a hundredfold!
Nametag Sundays will happen each weekend this month of September. When you come to Mass this month, please wear a nametag, introduce yourself to someone else, and get to know some of your fellow parishioners. Nearly 200 new households have registered at St. Margaret this last year; make it a point to meet someone new!
A copy of our Annual Stewardship Report is to be mailed to each parish household this month. Additional copies will be available at the Church doors, and a digital copy is available below. On September 27-28, a member of the Finance Council will present the annual parish financial report at the beginning of Mass, reminding us all to be as generous as we are able.
You will also be receiving an updated copy of the Parish Guidebook in the mail (a copy of which is presented below). The parish will not be holding a Ministry Fair this year, but please check the guidebook for the most up-to-date information on our parish ministries and organizations. This material is also always available on our website, along with a digital copy of the guidebook. Please take the time to look over these details and discern which ministries you wish to devote your time, talents, and treasure to this year. There are lots of opportunities for engagement in our very active parish, and all parishioners are encouraged to be involved in these many efforts.
Thanks for your generosity to St. Margaret of Scotland Parish! Let us pray and work to become more grateful and generous stewards!
