Sponsored by SMOS Living Justice Ministries

The Living Justice Ministries is continuing its work of providing a couple of meals a month to the food pantry at Centennial Church in Fountain Park, which was devastated by the May 16th tornado.  This is a coordinated effort led by Isaiah 58 Ministries, with various faith communities around the St. Louis area. The next two dates scheduled are Friday, October 3rd and Wednesday, October 22nd.

The meals have been very welcome in the Fountain Park community.  The menu varies each time, and the residents in the area, as well as those continuing to be served in the absence of the food pantry, have truly appreciated the food.  Thank you so much to all of you who helped with our first few months of meals – we have had a committed group of parishioners who have stepped up to help each time.  We are so grateful for everyone who volunteered (especially Girl Scout Troop 740 who took care of today’s meal!) – providing food, supplies, and helping hands to package and distribute the food.

More details are available at the sign-up link below.  We’re continuing to keep this simple.  Volunteers drop off various cooked items for the meals that morning, 2-3 volunteers to pack up meals in carryout containers, 2-3 volunteers to take the meals up to Fountain Park from 11a-1p for distribution.

If you haven’t yet volunteered – it’s never to late to help.  The tornado relief work in North City is a massive undertaking – but we’re glad to be able to participate even in this small way.  Please sign up at the link below if you are interested to join us.  And thank you in advance for your consideration.
