LJM Meal Dropoff/Packaging – Tornado Relief
Friday, November 7 @ 8:00 am – 11:00 am
Church-Basement-Parish Hall (280)
3864 Flad Ave., Saint Louis, 63110, United States
From 11:00am-1:00pm on both days, select volunteers will go to Centennial Christian Church, 4950 Fountain Ave, St. Louis, MO 63113 to delivery and distribute the meals.
Sponsored by SMOS Living Justice Ministries
The SMOS Living Justice Ministries will continue to provide meals twice a month to the food pantry at Centennial Church in Fountain Park, which was devastated by the May 16th tornado, at least through the end of this year. The need continues to grow – the last time they served, they handed out almost 100 meals. The Church unfortunately is a total loss and will be torn down (and hopefully rebuilt), but LJM will continue to work with other community partners to serve these meals out of the parking lot. Moving forward they will only be doing Fridays.
For the month of November, the next two dates scheduled are Friday, November 7th and Friday, November 21st. For the 7th, please click the link below to signup. There are numerous slots available for donation items, cooked items, and volunteers to help package and deliver & serve. Currently, for the 21st, the 5th grade girl scouts will be handling that date – if any additional help is needed, a request will be sent out later.
More details are available at the sign-up link below. If you haven’t yet volunteered – it’s never to late to help. The tornado relief work in North City is a massive undertaking – but we’re glad to be able to participate even in this small way.
