Weekly News From St. Margaret of Scotland School

~ We recently had our first half-day. St. Margaret of Scotland uses these days as an opportunity to participate in Professional Development. One of the goals of the five-year strategic plan was to create a school-wide behavioral management system that provided clarity and unity from grade to grade. We chose to use a program that is founded in Restorative Practices. Restorative practices provide teachers with practical strategies to encourage belonging and connectedness between community members. These practices are used to help reduce conflict and handle it in productive ways. The goal is to have classrooms that function in predictable ways with predictable routines facilitated by a teacher who is kind and trustworthy. Our teachers and staff members did a great job engaging with the material during our professional development day.
Throughout the school year, we present an article in the bulletin each week providing updates from St. Margaret’s School, written by a member of our school staff.
