Makers Market is an elective course taken by 50 middle school students during the first trimester of school this year.  The students learned hands-on entrepreneurship skills by constructing prototype products, creating business plans, learning about price setting, purchasing, and loans, practicing philanthropy by identifying charitable organizations to support, and advertising and marketing. 

Their “final exam” will be this Friday, November 10 in the SMOS Gym as they host a vendor fair for the entire SMOS community.  Our vendors will be selling everything from sugar scrubs, to bracelets, to rocks, to croc charms and SO MUCH MORE!  Homerooms will have an opportunity to sign up for a shopping time similar to the Scholastic Book Fair.  Be aware that it is a cash-only event, but entrance is free and all are welcome. 

If you miss them on Friday, some of them are even planning to sell at the St. Margaret Market on November 17.  We hope that you can join us to see a wealth of creativity on display – even if it is just for a bit of window shopping!
