CRE Update 09-07-23

This week we have been celebrating Mary’s birthday! Our Church celebrates Mary’s Immaculate Conception on December 8, so her birthday is traditionally celebrated on September 8.

We have been celebrating Mary by talking about her, reading a special story about her, playing Mary-related games, and enjoying a birthday treat. The children have also been coming up with ways to celebrate Mary outside of school on Friday. Here is what they came up with:

  • praying a Hail Mary or talking directly to her
  • baking a cake and sharing it with family
  • singing happy birthday to her at one of their meals
  • drawing a picture of or for Mary and hanging it up at home

Tomorrow (Friday) is our first parent prayer gathering of the year. Join us at the Hesed Outdoor Classroom at 7:55am(ish) to spend 5-10 minutes in community with other parents and parishioners in prayer. All are welcome for this quick, informal moment with Jesus!
