Liturgical Ministries

Eucharistic Ministers

Eucharistic Ministers are the Liturgical Ministers who assist the priest in sharing the consecrated bread and wine at Holy Communion, typically as part of Mass.

Eucharistic Ministers might also bring the Eucharist to the homebound or others unable to attend Mass.

The priest presiding over the liturgy of the Mass is the ordinary minister of Holy Communion. The lay persons who are serving as Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion are “extra” ordinary, in that they are in addition to the priest or, in some instances, acting in his place.

Our Goal as ministers of Communion is to facilitate the spiritual connection between members of the parish at St. Margaret of Scotland and the spirit of Jesus Christ through the reception of the body and blood of Christ.
