Health Ministry

As a member of the Health Ministry, the Parish Nurse is called upon to bring wholeness to God’s people by praying, teaching and healing in His name.

The parish nurse promotes the physical, mental and spiritual well-being of parishioners at St. Margaret of Scotland, SMOS/St. Vincent de Paul and Gavin Outreach Center. The parish nurse is also a resource for health issues, an educator on healthy lifestyle choices, a liaison to faith and community resources, and a coordinator of volunteers.

The Health Ministry organizes blood pressure screenings, Sunday Mass drivers, blood drives and health screenings.

We are currently seeking a parish nurse. If you or someone you know is interested in the position, please contact the rectory!

Calling all RNs and LPNs We are looking for volunteers to help with blood pressure screenings after Mass on the second weekend of the month and volunteers to make visits to the shut-ins, elderly, or nursing home parishioners.

Other Ways to Get Involved Drive someone to their doctor’s appointment once a month. Send cards to the sick and shut-ins of our Parish – we provide names, cards, and stamps, and you just address and mail! Give a ride to and from Mass for someone without transportation.
