The Parish Council works to see that the parish fulfills the mission of St. Margaret of Scotland Church–a diverse, urban Catholic parish.
The Parish Council at St. Margaret of Scotland assists and advises the pastor in regard to all aspects of parish life.
Those aspects include: oversight and an overview of the various ministries and activities of the parish; oversees the on-going strategic planning processes of the parish and its various constituent elements; coordinates various parish committees and organizations so that they all work together toward achieving parish goals and objectives; makes appropriate policy recommendations to the pastor; identifies parishioners and provides training for leadership positions in the parish.
Membership of the Parish Council consists of the pastor, a number of parishioners elected by the parish at large, and a number appointed by the pastor to achieve the balance and diversity that reflects the parish.
The Council meets monthly except in July.
