I joined the SMOS faculty as a Kindergarten assistant in 2014 after several years off to focus on family life. When a third Kindergarten classroom opened, I jumped at the chance to be a lead teacher. I earned my Bachelor’s and teaching certificate from the University of Missouri – St. Louis in elementary education. I am also certified in early childhood education. I began my career teaching the third grade and then moved to the first grade. I completed my Master’s in special education in 2002.
Teaching is my passion and I am blessed to work with a dedicated team of educators and my students who challenge me to search out ways to best reach their hearts and minds for learning.
Outside of teaching, I enjoy hiking, gardening, and history. My family and I love to travel and are proud city residents. Some of our favorite places around town are the Science Center, Art Museum, Tower Grove Park and dining at the many outstanding restaurants in our community.
