Best known for her love of language, Kara Manley comes to the middle school at St. Margaret of Scotland with 18 years of experience teaching reading, writing, early literacy, English as a second language, World literature, and American literature. She has been a teacher to middle school students, high school students, graduate students, international students, and early literacy students. If you want to discuss the proper use of semicolons or diagram sentences, she wants to join you. When Kara isn’t teaching, correcting essays, conferencing with students, chaperoning fun events, or reflecting on the power of the written word, she can be found whipping up her creativity by running a half marathon, growing vegetables, sewing pieces of her family’s wardrobe, planning summer travels to the beach and mountains, and of course reading for pleasure. She loves a good thrift store find too.
