  • Parents should not, under any circumstances, stop their vehicle on Lawrence to let their child out. It is dangerous for our preschool and walking children, it causes traffic for our neighbors, and it is never allowed.
  • Between 7:30 am and 7:50 am SMOS families may not park in the Castleman Circle or anywhere on 3900 block of Castleman (east of Lawrence). The single exception is the family who delivers bread on Tuesday morning.
  • Adults who prefer to remain in their vehicles using the Castleman Centennial Lane thoroughfare must follow these directives:
    • Heading west on Castleman Ave from 39th Street, vehicles will queue up at the curb at the playground. Cars will pull up four at a time – if you are the first car, please pull up Purcell Hall to allow for 3 other cars behind you.
    • Do not drop your child off before you are one of the four cars in the lane. Do not drop your child off and turn around in Castleman Circle.
    • When the Castleman Centennial Lane thoroughfare is opened, vehicles will move forward towards Shaw Ave.
    • Faculty will be present to greet the children as they exit the vehicle from the driver’s side.

FRIDAY MASS DROP-OFF
Drop-off for Mass is between 7:30 am – 7:55 am at the church at 3854 Flad. Please ensure your children are at the church before mass begins at 8:00 am.

Pre-school students will be taken to the church basement. The entrance is located on 39th street.

All other students will line up in front of the church with their classes. You can drop off one of two ways:

  • Park on any of the neighboring blocks (39th, Flad, Cleveland) and walk your child up to the church.
  • Pull up to the front of the church on Flad, park your car, and have your child exit from the passenger’s side. A teacher will be there to ensure your child makes a safe exit.
  • Do not stop your car on 39th to let your child out. People in the neighborhood are often trying to get to work, and it creates traffic and an unsafe situation if people are stopping on such a busy thoroughfare.

Children walk back to school after mass. The younger children are paired up with a buddy to create community and to ensure safety on the walk back.
